News: THE COCOA BEACH SURF MUSEUM will be celebrating the opening of their newest exhibit “FLORIDA WOMEN OF THE WAVES” on the weekend of July 23rd & 24th 2010.

The Cocoa Beach Surf Museum is located at 4275 North Atlantic Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Fl 32931.
It is on the NE corner of Dixie Lane and A1A in the Ron Jons Rental Building (just north of the main store).

I just remember the sparring being really rough more than anything. (I just sold all of my pads at my last garage sale, somehow managed to keep them all these years)

It was instilled that once you defended yourself and commited to fighting, you dont stop. That was the biggest thing with any fights when I was a kid / teen. Most of the kids would swing on each other, and then step back / wait. It was so ridiculous. That is what I learned NOT to do. Dont half step and youll probably come out on top.

I think I have seen that same one there haha, one night (circa 94) we were sitting on the stage, this burley guy we used to hang out with got hit by something on the back of the head, it was a ripped, black tranny who was swinging his purse around while dancing. It was permitted cuz I think we would have got beatdown. It looked like T.O. in a red skirt.

so its a finesse thing, like surfing...

I did kenpo with Mike Green in rockledge when I was a kid, it was rough. I learned enough to hold my own at CHS. haha
