« on: May 13, 2008, 06:44:43 PM »

I got a really big decision to make.

It means
No more profanity on the forum.
No more chicken bones.
No more oysters shells.
No more Goby Fest.
No more poking sticks at the monkeys.
No more me being a stupid shit.

Shadow.....make it all easy...make it nice....Do all the work for me. Pleeaassseeee.

Making contacts now....need more info to make a decision.
Roost...Thx.... Successful volunteer efforts breed more opportunities.
Success is the key...
Surf rider is a very important. And the success of a Cocoa Beach Chapter is paramount.
The Cocoa Beach Chapter has a opportunity to set the standard for Environmental Measures defined and recognized on a State and National level.
There are key components that are presently in place that need to be knitted together.
The Greater good ALWAYS seem to out weigh my personal wants....
Damn... shit....fuck.... umm.... I mean.... Darn....Crap.....love.

Whatever you decide ... we'll back you up.  I have a few of the Surfrider chaptpers on my friends list on myspace.  The guy who runs the Treasure Coast Chapter has been the MOST informative as far as posting/updating me w/ info.  Any post I've ever made about Surfrider I got from him.

Here's his link:

SURFRIDER PRO TEAM

"Unlike other industry teams, the Surfrider Foundation team members are not compensated. Instead, each of the athletes will be donating their time and energies to the program. As team members, the surfers will be using their high-profile status to advocate on behalf of the Surfrider Foundation. Additionally each team member has agreed to donate two volunteer days per year to assist the Foundation in such activities as filming public service announcements, outreach and fundraising appearances, beach clean-ups and other activities." --www.surfrider.org

"The Surfrider Foundation is the watchdog for our oceans," says team member Damien Hobgood. "Anyone who enjoys or has anything to do with our oceans should support Surfrider."

Andy Irons Kauai, HI
Taylor Knox Oceanside, CA
CJ. Hobgood Satelite Beach, FL
Pat O'Connell Laguna Beach, CA
Damien Hobgood Satelite Beach, FL
Rob Machado Cardiff, CA
Sunny Garcia Oahu, HI
Shane Dorian Kona, HI

Surfrider is very important to some people.  Reality checks don't have to be permanent changes to your personal nature.  I've seen all different kinds of characters hold office in Surfrider.  Be passionate about what you do and show respect and professionalism to others.

You can do it!

The Orlando Chapter decided to celebrate in Orlando. The Sebastian Inlet Chapter (which covers all of Indian River and Brevard Counties) is celebrating on the 21st in, of all places, Cocoa Beach.

Sasso called me and gave me a pep talk. He actually gave me a excellent plan that's easily accomplished.

I have been ditching everyone including Watermans, Surf Museum meetings, posting on this forum so I could have time to think. My Eco Business has exploded and I am just trying to keep the pistons going up and down, web site optimized, build my fuel farm, keep a ass munch competitor at bay and get through the summer fling.

We got time to get this done right. There are the right folks in place.
:clap We could be proud of a Cocoa Beach Surf Rider Chapter. :clap

I'm sure Tony has good ideas, but it's probably a stretch to say they are easily accomplished, or it would already have been done by Seb. Inlet or Central Florida chapter members local to that area.

Surfrider can always use good help, as development and growth are usually at odds with preserving natural resources. Sustaining and/or growing a chapter is a constant battle.

I hope your discussions with the Seb. Inlet chapter executives help to give you an understanding of the commitments and time required to make a good impact to your local area.
