Kona in February
« on: January 18, 2008, 01:48:23 PM »

I'm going up to Kona for my birthday.  I'm not sure what day I'm going yet but it will be early Feb. either the first or second weekend.  Just a day trip.  I have 2 empty seats in my car if anyone wants to go.

I suck at skating. I just like to cruise on my LB skate.  :monkey:

The snake run is the main reason I'm going.  There are better pools here and in Orlando but nobody has a snakerun anymore except Kona.

The snake run was fun but I tell ya...the concrete is rough.  If they resurfaced it to what modern parks are using it would be scary fast!

Dan, My memory is a little fuzzy... Arent there or (were) there pools on the other side of the snake run?

I remember when we were younger we used to only go halfway up the run because we would go so fast.  While we were
doing this some dude started at the top halled ass and pulled off an air over the bowl at the end and landed in the pool  :o
and pulled it off !!! Was SICK.  I was like 12 and still remember that  :ya-ok:

Yeah, there's a pool on the other side of the snake run, it's a classic backyard style pool though, steep trannys and cement coping.  Lots of vert too.  The snake run empties into a little bowl that has a funky shape to it.  I remembered Kona being much better than it is though.  Cocoa Beach is still the best skate park around for sure.
