As Stoop mentioned earlier in this post, there is a bad ass place in Palm Bay off Babcock that we call the Grapefruit trails.
You need to do this run. It has some real cool transitions, jumps, tabletops ect. and no sugar sand. You can even go under I-95 now.
It's pretty technical so be careful your first run until you get used to it. I hit it quite a bit. Yes, I mean the trail.

Thanks for the link Addict, the place sounds fun.  Funny the first thing I read was easy on the front brake.  I just took my bike out to
see what all I need to do to have it "trail" ready and my back brake is very soft  ::

That's us BR. The fat tire bike is my brothers. It was slippery as hell that day. We ate shit so many times. So far, between me and my brudder, we have spent three weekends in the ER. Two for him, one for me.
The trail is bad ass. It's worth the co-pay at the ER.

sweet. i might try to go ride somewhere before sat. so i don't feel like a complete kook. i found a huge album of some more pictures, looks like a blast!

.

any recommendations on any other spots around here that aren't flat and somewhat interesting?

another thing i was wondering about was etiquette? how crowded do these places get and is it common for people to pass you up,  etc. ? Like a open day at a moto track? Seems like ya gotta be super careful on these little trails not to hit anybody.

looking forward to saturday!

In terms of crowds, I have never seen more than four cars at the Church.
Everyone is super cool who rides there. It's too tight of a ride for someone to pass.
I saw that a hash run went through there a few weeks ago.
Riding drunk or even slightly buzzed there is not a good idea but hey, we only live once
Unfortunately, this is a gem here. No places around locally like it.

Hash run    Cool pics.  Why do I already see myself tangled in my bike crashed at the bottom of that jump!!!

edit: As far as etiquette goes all Ive heard out there (Tom Brown in Tally.) was when people come up on you they will tell you
which way they are going to pass you.  Kinda like on a wave; goin right !!

Weather channel is saying only rain on friday, we just have to wait and see.

Broll- the best advice I have ever been given regarding riding trails was two things. First, always look at the part of the trail you want to ride. For example, if you are riding a trail that goes along a river and the trail is really close to the river keep your eyes on the trail. If you stare at the river or other obstacle you will most likely run right into it. Second when you are not pedaling keep your feet level as opposed to one up and one down. That way your pedals will not hit any tall roots and your legs will work like shock absorbers when you hit some bumps.

I heard there are some trails in the vero/ft. Pierce area, but like ocean addict said this is the only trail in the area.  Santos trailhead in ocala is the best in the state that I have been to and well worth the drive from brevard.

damn, hope we dont get rained out. i might go ride "ulamay wildlife sanctuary" in merritt island today if it doesnt rain. i rode around the neighborhood all last night after i finished my work for about 2 hours. bike feels solid compared to bikes im used to riding.

hope all is still well for sat. if we do go, what time? I got plans for 6 so the earlier the better. i still gotta go get a helmet.

thanks for the tips guys.

There are some good trails in the NSB area. 7 mile loop single track with some good elevation change, jumps, and minimal sugar sand

http://trails.mtbr.com/cat/united-states-trails/trails-florida/trail/PRD_167530_4540crx.aspx

I'm gonna hit it on Saturday morning. If any of you ever feel like making the trek, let me know I'll meet up with ya.
