Been shopping "Thrifty Produce" lately, good stuff! :)
There's stuff in there I have no idea what to do with   ???
I asked the nice lady buying some kind of root
"What do you make with that?"
She gave me a long detailed explanation,
unfortunately, my Spanish is only good enough to order more beer...

No, it was something else, like a giant green radish or something.
Next time I go I'll get the name.

fwiw, made some yuca last night because you mentioned it
it's one of those thing that you know
the first people who ate it were really hungry

Thrifty Produce strikes again!
I bought a giant package of bean thead noodles 'cause they were cheap
and apparently they are made out of some industrial strength polymer
unlike anything the space program ever produced.
They are impossible to break, chip or cut and
are more flexible than a good big wave leash.
We resorted to poultry shears to cut them,
about 3-5 noodles at a time,
in order to parcel them down to a size
mere mortals can consume.
I love that place...

Yuca is the real shit.... love it boiled with mojo sauce. The stuff at pollo tropical is terrible though. The real puerto rican homemade stuff is amazing.
