The Cove
« on: December 29, 2009, 06:16:29 PM »

There's been talk about the Japanese dolphin killers for a while, and my buddy just sent me this link for the film The Cove,  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KRD8e20fBo&feature=player_embedded
His brother-in-law was a videographer for this film, and evidently they were constantly being threatened and chased by the fisherman and local authorities while filming it.  Definitely want to see it when it's in the theaters or on video.

Ive seen footage from that movie on fuel... It had the cheerleader from heroes and the super eco surfer rasta. They paddle out in the cove, formed a circle and they almost get gaffed  by one of the dolphin herders. eek  Its wretched what happens to the dolphins, sharks, and whales....

I saw plenty of dolphins yesterday. They were playing, some were surfing, one popped out of a barrel. I even saw some pelicans terrain following the waves, but none of them got barreled. Only those CB pelicans do that.

The local dolphins range down to Ft Pierce and up to North Indian River. Not all but some.
But they come home and hang in the Thousand Islands in December.

Thats cool, from now on im going to look at dorsal fins now to see if they have one of those stamps!!! I had two surface literally a foot away from me once. Im sure I will get a good look, but most of the ones I see have gnarly looking dorsals that look like boats ran them over :-s
