« on: August 02, 2010, 08:56:39 PM »

ok so this isn't really another board sport but i think its fitting

anyway, just got it, wondering if any of yall have tried it? i've heard a million and one good things from friends who have done it and its cheaper than a 3 month gym membership for me (ordered it off amazon)

just wanted more feedback, i can't go 100% because of my arm but stoked to try it anyway

You work out for like an hour straight, with each successive routine being different which causes "muscle confusion". In 90 days youre supposed to see a dramatic difference in bmi if youre hefty.

Damn jt you burning the midnight oil?

Does Tony Little make an appearance on the tape  :monkey:

You always want to change your workout routines to avoid plateauing and boredom.

But my workout routine is surfing?
Never boring but I don't know about the plateau thing.
I'll let you know if I ever get out of the piedmont.

Seems like an hour long workout is a bit excessive...assuming you are working out the whole time and not taking like 5 minute rests inbetween sets.

Gym related so I'll put it in here. I swear I don't make this shit up. I was in the crapper and I hear this old guy say" oh hey John, I didn't recognize you with your clothes off"

That's funny as hell!  I see old retired military dudes in the gym all the time strutting through the locker room 100% naked.  It's scary.

^^I gotta add to that one.

Mrs. 9AM is a professional fund raiser and because of that,
I need to make an occasional appearance, in coat and tie of course,
at events that she is either running or participating in.

At once such event, I ran into a guy I know from surfing down south.
Just one of the usual lineup, never seen him outside of the water, you know, just somebody you surf with.
So, introductions are occuring and he says hello, and I say

"Oh hey!  I didn't recognize you with your cloths on."

And the room got very very quiet.
And then we busted out laughing!

missm, I did p90x after shit settled down with our son, lost 35 lb's in 90 days (from 188 to 153). the hardest part is the diet. it's about 7 hours of exercise spread out over 6 days w/ 1 day off. i followed everything 99%. Only messed up once at a Jaguars game, ate like 4 soft tacos, lol. if you have any specific ?'s let me know.

with your arm, you will be limited to only about 1/2 of the workout's(if that). the biggest thing is pullup's, which are 50% of 75% of the workouts. The Yoga workout is even super intense on the arms, as well as the KenpoX. Actually there are no videos in the program that arent intense of the arms. I went from doing about 1 - 5 pullup's to 20 + easily. You might want to try something different until your arm heals. I had a bone contusion in my shoulder for acouple months a few months back. I was already done with p90x (finished back in nov.), but there is no way in hell i could have done any of the videos with that injury, much less an injury like yours.

and one more thing* there is a fitness test thing on the p90x website you need to check out. It's like a little evaluation, if you can't pass it (which you might not be able to with your arm), you should wait to do p90x until your arm heals. you could always get the program now though and have it all ready for when you're healed up.
