11th Street Fishin'
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:18:12 AM »

I caught a bunch of Whiting off the beach last weekend, mostly keepers.  I also got a bunch of Pompano but they were all to small.  And one Flounder...keeper as well.

Ate the Whiting last night...yum!

Nice
I haven't fished in almost 20 years
I couldn't tell you how to tie a hook on to a line
Or hook bait properly.....
This post makes me want to buy a rod and reel and
Get all of these earth worms from my compost pile
And spend a day fishing

caught a crap load of good sized trout 20" or so also ladyfish... long as my leg.. then this big bull shark cruises by.. this is just on the other side of the locks between ski island and shore... first shark ive ever saw in the river.. I looked at my new penn reel and said.. no way. the fishing's really good right now. We played keep away with the dolphins around the islands for hours.

That's a nice catch Snapperhead.

11th has yielded plenty of nice sized Whiting in recent weeks.  My neighbor and I have been catching them like crazy.  2 weeks ago I went home with over 3lbs after they were fileted.

the fishing in the rivers has been stellar as of late.. any river.. just look for sand and weeds... just about any lure will work.. been tearing em up with mirror lures.  The boat next to us.. 38" trout.. that's huge.. then on the next cast.. a 19" trout all the way to the boat.. when a giant red ate it WHOLE.. needless to say that one he didn't land.. we're talking a fish on every cast kind of fishing.. my arm hurts, my hands are tore up from getting hooked..

Friends of mine have been catching Redfish the size of ones you'd see off the fenders at SBI
over the past few days up here in the river.
