I really like Steve's suggestion of putting folks to "work" for their Gov. cheese.  Surely there is a wide enough variety of tasks that can suit nearly all welfare recipients.

The EBT cards should only be able to purchase the staple items in the grocery store.
If you want soda, cookies, chips, candy, and a nice rib eye...break out your wallet or do without.

This reminded me of when I lived in Canaveral across from the Circle K.  This lady would always be in there using that EBT card for food then break out her pennies to pay for her Natty Ice...

Eh, forgot I was going to put this up earlier.  Dang Altzheimers.
Not my thought but I can't remember who to attribute it to:
Can or Should?
Do we regulate how people can behave, or how they should?

Making people work will actually help in many ways and not in a mean way.

There is a real issue when one becomes unemployed. If you can not find employment by around the six month mark, you are going into dangerous territory. For some lame reason, HR reps have a stigma that if you have been out of work for a long time...that suddenly you forget everything you learn. Many years of being a manager or doing a trade...suddenly after 6 months you are forgetting to even unzip your zipper when you take a leak...in their view, you regress into some kind of moron which is a dumb stance to take.

If we are going to give away money...why not make it a job? Then they can learn something, do something, and have something to put on a resume so if they think it blows...they can find a more suitable job. Plus the work teams can clean up some crappy neighborhoods or something.

I was gonna say we have come far as a 16st group.  After weeding out all the F'tards it is now possible for a post like this to stay on track.  Even with the ever present flat spell which usually just adds fuel to the fire!
