PIL
« on: September 13, 2012, 07:14:10 AM »

Public Image Limited is coming to Firestone in October...

Have not seen them since they opened for INXS in 1987/88

 ::evil :monkey:

That show in 87 was general admission to the orange county convention center and I had hundreds of tickets made from a printer and they looked exactly like the real ones. I sold them to everyone at school and even the campus police officer called me over, thought I was done for and said, hey I need 4 tickets for my daughter, SOLD. Everyone got in and I made probably as much as PIL did on that gig. I feel I owe it to them to go buy a ticket to this coming show.

LOL...I was at that show!  I bought legit tickets though.  We got so close to the stage that Johnny Rotten (Lydon) spit on us.

It was a decent show if I recall correctly.  PIL was good, INXS was eh...OK.  I recently heard an interview with him on an NPR program and he was his normal self, obnoxious and arrogant...just the way we like him.  I bet it will be a good show.

God, I was in 10th grade I think.  Man time flies.

His lyrics are thought provoking. This is probably one of my favorite songs of his..

Flashback alert. In 87 I was rinsing the dead kennedys to death, and among the living by anthrax, and raising hell by rundmc. Pretty strange collection of music really.

I too was at that show. Skipped school to  drive over to Lakeland just o be there early to get front row because my gf at the time was all frothy at mouth for the auto-erotic asphyxiation guy, god love ya Michale Hutchence. Dude could have probably tagged any chick he wanted, but, no he went and chocked his neck while choking his chicken...

 But, I digress. Inxs was ok. PIL was pretty damn good. The blackdude bass player gave me the sideways high five before their last song. Cool day, got in my first wreck and everything. Fun times!
