Any of you three tire guys?
« on: June 17, 2015, 05:35:59 PM »

Need new tires.. I don't need a "tire guy", I have one.  Question is I can get a kick ass deal on Firestone Destination A/T's. I'm aware all the problems Firestone had in the past, but these seem to be getting nothing but good reviews. Looking for some other input on this. Gracias! I'm looking at Toyo or Bridgestones as well but they are around $500 more. I'll pay it but if the Firestones are legit I'd much rather save the money.

I remember it was the wilderness A/Ts on old ford explorers that were duds. SUVs were flipping upon blowout.

Who are the three btw?   :bandito:

I have the Destination LE2 (quieter tread than AT) 235/75-15 on my Frontier right now.
It's a 60K tire and I have 65K with maybe 5-10 tread left.
No problems.  Will buy them again.
ymmv 'cause idlyg (I drive like your granny)
:)

edit- it's the LE2 and I think he means the 3 Mousketeers.

Just waiting on Danno to chyme in and the Big three are complete  :high:

I went with he Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2. I put the Bridgestone Duelers (not all terrain)on my last truck and liked them alot, so I stuck with what works. Only issue I read was tread wear after 50k miles, but I never own a vehicle that long anyway  :monkey:

On the sedan I currently have, its running Bridgestone ecopias. They were a little bit more in price but they had 10x less road noise. They are supposed to help with mileage as well, but its marginal. I used the bridgestone duellers on my rodeo too, they wore better than the cheap walmart goodyears. Dont buy tires from wally world. They get their own branding of tires by goodyear that suck.

Cantina tres amigos, come say ello to me amigo.

Got the Bridgestone DriveGuard (run flats) for
the Mrs.9mobile.  So far nice tires.
Same price as the regular ones,
but now she can keep driving on the flat and
not ruin the rim;
unlike those other times when she could also
keep driving on the flat...

Okay, I've had the Dueler Revo A/T 2's on for a week.  Very impressed. Multiple trips to Orlando and all over Brevard. Drove around Cocoa Beach during that monsoon Sunday eve and they held like a champ. Very little road noise on the highway. Now I'll just see about the tread wear over time.
