smartphone/dumbphone
« on: July 09, 2015, 11:11:03 AM »

Well it happened.

Over FathersDay, my spouse and offspring conspired
and brought me into the 21st Century,
15 years late.
Yes, my beloved and battered dumbphone
has been replaced.
 :'(
Did I have the last one?

This is a real picture.

I was super broke as you all may know. I also know I have some attention issues so internet access at work was the last thing I needed.

However, besides the fact that this last relic is on its last legs...the price of a smart phone is declining rapidly so it almost makes no sense to not have one.

Plus...There are so many people now that Obama and his alien commanders can not watch all of us humans at once.

P.S. Yes the back of my phone is held on with tape! No smartphone could survive what I put my phone through!

Tape is an effective
and cost conscious
engineering solution.
Nothing wrong with that.

WOW! That might be worth some money. My Pops has one just like it and I keep warning him if it breaks he's gonna have to get an iPhone because they don't make flips anymore.

Well it's been about a month with the smart phone
and we're reaching an agreement on standards and conduct.

For some reason, the phone occasionally begin to lecture me,
in an authoritarian female tone,
concerning some action which I may or may not be interested in.

At first I was distressed and tried to sooth and cooperate
but my actions only appeared to encourage this behavior.

Reaching into my parental bag of tricks,
I decided to send my phone into "time out" with the off button
until it returns to behavior we can both tolerate.

It's good to be the grown up.

I just put my Niece on my plan and gave her an i6 for her getting into nursing school. She's literally worked for everything on her own and has been rocking a phone that can rival Steves! Anyway.. I took the new phone (more memory) and gave her my i6. This new damn phone keeps wanting me to update ALL of my apps, including the BS ones I don't even use that come stock on the phone.. WTF, I should know how to fix this.

If this phone is soooo smart,
how come it get's lost all the time?
I'm always asking it,
after I've extracted from under the sofa cushion or somewhere,
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO?"
and it never has a thing to say for itself.
stupid phone

New higher management position...and still with the same dumb phone! But I know it is on the verge of being a fond memory.

Today my buddy sent me pics of my going away party to my phone! With links. So I could only see the two teaser pics it loaded out of courtesy. That is a way to keep up with technology.

Well, can not wait to be like your niece and experience the joys of constant updates and data plans.

Sadly, I thought my phone issue was my friend/boss texting me every minute which caused my battery to lose power.

Well, the other very early morning, I must have went nutso from the phones alarm violently waking me at 5:40 a.m. and yanked on the power cord. So it appears that now, the cord is not seating into the phone correctly causing the phone to not charge.

This is the end...beautiful friend. The end.

Smartphones are, in fact, somewhat entertaining.
I have only recently discovered soxting.
Since I am a married gentlemen, I only send the pictures to Mrs. 9,
but thought I'd post one here just for grins.
Who knew this could be so much fun?

I just locked up a deal with Walmart to open iFixandRepair in their Florida locations. Our first one will be out at the Super Walmart in Palm Bay off Malabar rd. Hit me up when that screen cracks or you need anything else!
